After the success of the previous year's summer party, the event director was keen for a speakeasy theme, so I decided to develop creative that would lean heavily into my love of vibrant, ornate typography. The year before had been romantic and ethereal, so this year we wanted more sass, spectacle and playfulness to the occasion.

As the first summer party since The Spectator’s acquisition, the event called for a particularly memorable sense of occasion. The result was a plethora of extravagant creative, including a bespoke reverse glass sign painting, a decadent floral scheme, and a limited-edition Spectator Summer Gin, extending the party’s prohibition-era world into a collectable piece of merchandise.
